World mental health day

Today is #worldmentalhealthday .....

and i'm sure I've lost half of people's attention by now. So whats your excuse today then 'I can't deal with this right now', 'I'm too tired too talk about this', 'iv'e got work in a hour', 'we'll talk tomorrow' but tomorrow never comes does it? Now of course i mean that metaphorically but for someone with depression that could be literal. I don't know what it is about mental health but as soon as someone hears those words, 'mental health,' they seem too run in the opposite direction. Something i want you too realise, that a lot of people forget, is that when you're running it's most commonly a loved one that you're running from; A daughter, a brother, a best friend, a mum, an aunt, a cousin - It's someone you know. Mental health issues effect 1 in every 4 people, that's a shocking statistic right? and with so many people going through it you'd think it would be spoken about all the time - wrong, 3 in every 4 young people wont speak about what they're going through because they fear peoples reactions. Think about that, they 'FEAR' your reaction, they're scared too tell you that they're not happy and they want too die, they're scared too tell you that the trees are talking too them or that they see a little girl that no one else see's, DO YOU NOT THINK THAT'S SCARY ENOUGH FOR THEM AS IT IS. Don't add to your child's fear..... you need too be that protective arm that guide's them in the right direction when everything else seem's dark, you need too be there when they say 'dad, can i talk too you quickly' Stop turning your children away because you're scared what they're going too say, THEY'RE SCARED, way more scared then you could ever be, but they don't need too be, and nor do you. Nobody needs too be scared of their mental ilness because there is help available, be that therapy or medication or a bit of both, there are so many ways too help your loved one, stop being scared because i promise it wont be all on you. Just get your kid some help. Below are some numbers you can call if you're in crisis and just need too talk too someone who understands, and of course feel free too message me if you ever need some advice or just a friend. I don't want anymore kids too die, no one should feel like that's there only option. Now i'm going too go and see my therapist about my medication increase and I'm not ashamed, because I refuse too be silenced. #endthestigma
